ARTman vol. 4 / no PARA

1500 HUF / Student: 1200 HUF
An inclusive dance performance with artists of different abilities in two acts.

Ági Gyulavári: Transparent from a distance (PREMIER)

This performance, which combines film, live singing, ‘textile technology’ and contemporary dance – is inspired by the personality of a young autistic woman. As the performers reflect on the nature of her movement and voice, autism becomes a metaphor for the general human need for security and relationships. Through the process of connecting virtual worlds and reality, and art and technology, movement is transformed into dance, and voice into music.

This performance is part of Trafo’s smART! XTRA series.

Bernadett Jobbágy: The Intuition of Cells

I guess I’m mainly made up of liquid... and because of this I am constantly changing… and every time we meet there is always something flowing between us.

This performance, which brings together able-bodied and visually-impaired dancers, live singing, and video images on stage - is inspired by the liquid nature of the human body, and by the fact that our emotions and these liquids (primarily water) continually interact, creating those moments where our pasts overlap with the physical reality of the here and now.

Mészöly Andrea: Beszélj rólam! (2011)

This performance highlights deeply-established social taboos, and is based on the real-life situations of two severely multiply handicapped performers, Csaba Bruchner and Károly Tóth, as well as those of an actor, László Kövesdi and a dancer, Andrea Nagy.

By combining able-bodied and disabled performers, the audience is able to see past physical limitations and recognize all the performers as fellow human beings, with their own positive characteristics.

The presence of the able-bodied dancer allows the audience to see past the physical limitations of the disabled performers, and appreciate them as fellow human beings, with their own positive characteristics.
